CARR GOLF SECURES MULTIYEAR COURSE MAINTENANCE CONTRACT AT BALLYNEETY GC
Carr Golf, Ireland’s leading provider of golf club management and maintenance services, has signed a multiyear golf course maintenance contract with Ballyneety Golf Club in Co. Limerick. Carr Golf Regional Superintendent Aindriu Jackson will work with the existing greenkeeping team to oversee an annual maintenance programme, with an initial focus on the putting surfaces and the implementation of an over-seeding and balanced nutritional programme to facilitate a transition to predominantly fescue-based greens.
Ed Pettit, Managing Director of the Carr Golf Maintenance Division said, “Ballyneety Golf Club has been a key strategic addition to our course portfolio in the South West, where we already work with Limerick Golf Club and Great National Ballykisteen Golf Hotel. Like a phoenix from the ashes, Ballyneety reopened in 2013 following a 3-year closure. The members and greenkeeping team, headed by John McMahon, completed miraculous work to re-instate the golf course. Carr Golf is excited to work with the team to continue to refine the course presentation and maximise its visual splendour, supported by its location and sweeping views across Limerick County.”
Timothy Smyth, Course Chairman at Ballyneety Golf Club said, “Ballyneety GC is delighted to have contracted Carr Golf to manage and oversee all aspects of the course maintenance. Our interaction with Carr Golf has been productive and has brought many positive developments in a short space of time. Carr Golf is a thoroughly professional organisation and has expert staff for engagement with our ground staff and management committee in a seamless manner.”
Pettit continued, “Over the past 12-months we’ve invested over €750,000 in maintenance equipment, predominantly Jacobsen and Toro machines through local agents Broderick Grass Machinery and Reesink. This ongoing investment in new and modern golf equipment is critical to continued course refinement and conditioning, with our clients benefiting significantly from the bulk-purchasing discounts.”
